Medicare Advantage (MA) plans, alternatively known as Medicare Part C, are comprehensive healthcare plans offered by private insurance companies approved by Medicare. These insurance plans combine the benefits of Medicare Part A, i.e., hospital insurance, and Part B, i.e., medical insurance, often including additional benefits like vision, dental, and wellness programs.
Eligibility
- One must be enrolled in both Medicare Part A and Part B.
- Most plans require you to live in the plan’s service area.
- Those with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) may have limited options but can still qualify under certain circumstances.

Prescription Drug Plans (PDP):

- Individuals must be enrolled in Medicare Part A or Part B.
- Those with a Medicare Advantage plan (Part C) that doesn’t include prescription drug coverage will need a separate PDP.
